Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit for this, I'll move this post somewhere else if necessary.
I'm a college student graduating in May, and I'm trying to find a job before I graduate. I'm currently working a student job at my school, where I basically set up all kinds of live events on campus. Anything from lectures, memorial services, dance shows, live bands, orchestra/symphony concerts, we do it all. I've been getting good experience with live sound setups (including live mixing), as well as other A/V stuff such as projection, cameras, or just plain ol' "plug into the TV" type of stuff.
I also have a good working knowledge of Pro Tools from my studies in college, and I'd like to think I have decent studio mixing/mastering skills for an amateur.
I want to find a career using these skills, or doing things related to these kinds of things. What kind of jobs would this stuff qualify me for? There's a company called PSAV which deals with a lot of this same stuff, but there aren't any jobs for them near me.
More specifically, I'm hoping to stay somewhat close to home. I live in Delaware, which is a fairly rural area with no real "cities." Do I need to move to a city? What options do I have in a more rural area?
