I'm finishing up my undergrad and will be moving back to my parents home (400 miles away) before going to dental school (in another city) 3 months after I graduate. I don't want to stay in my college town as I will have to pay an extra $1500 in rent (which, given that I may only make $3K max during the summer, I might as well not work). The problem is most jobs probably require an interview, and I am not going to drive 400 miles each way to a minimum wage job which I may have only a small chance of getting the interview anyways. I don't need the money, but don't want to twiddle my thumbs all day either for 3 months. I have a job in my town now, but it took 3 months from submitting the application to interviewing to training and drug tests and finally starting.
My other alternative was to do workaday in Australia.
