I got the job offer and then quitted my current job. Then the future company called to postpone my start date. What shall I do?

Well, the title pretty much sums up my situation. I got a new job and signed an agreement with the new company. We both confirmed （for multiple times) that my employment would start next week. On Tuesday, I then told my current boss that I had to leave. He was very understanding and we parted ways on good terms.

But just an hour ago, the future company told me they wanted to put back my employment for a whole week. I live on paycheck to paycheck so a whole week without work will cause huge trouble for me. Can someone give me some advice how to deal with situation like this? thanks
