At one point do you consider that a company isn't a good fit for you?
On paper where I work sounds great, very short commute and the hours are good for me. The salary is decent. The coworkers I interact with are nice enough.
But for literally two weeks, all I've done is scan and file paperwork. The company has thousands of orders that need to be filed away in order. They don't want me to do anything else until it's done. I know being an admin means I have to do dull things, but I wouldn't mind having a different dull activity to spice it up. The oldest orders are from May, if it's been put off this long it's not exactly a pressing concern. I feel like the job description lied and what they really needed is a temp worker to deal with the backlog.
It's also a different field than I've worked at previously. I know nothing about the service they provide. There are times of the day where I'm the only one left in the front yet customers still come in and I'm not being taught to how to handle these situations. I'm fine dealing with the public, but I'm not much help if I don't know the answers to their questions. It's frustrating.
So while I definitely won't quit without something else lined up, at what point should I start looking? I'm also looking for volunteer work to do in my free time, so I have "work" that I enjoy. Maybe once volunteering is sorted, I'll reassess how I feel.
