I've been at this job for almost four months. I've done really well and my boss and other office have all said positive things about my performance and I feel like I've done very well. I'm an administrative assistant for an office. I requested a simple schedule change from 9 to 530 every day to 8 to 430 every other day, so I can get to work earlier on the mornings I don't have my kids and get home earlier on the days I do. That was over a month ago and they only got back to me today, after I followed up twice. I don't think this is a hugely unreasonable request. At the interview, they represented their company as extremely family friendly and very willing to work with people's schedules and family life. This request denial (and other small things) have made me feel very misled and just puts a bad taste in my mouth. If anyone has any thoughts or feedback or questions for me, I'd love to hear them. I've been out of the corporate workplace office environment for 8 years being a mom and working at home so I'm not sure if this is just par for the course or is this hinting at this maybe not being the best workplace for me. Thanks for reading.
