Internal position - did I screw up?

I applied for an internal position earlier this month through the referral of the hiring manager of the position. Just this past Friday they asked for an interview for this upcoming Monday morning.

What I fail to realize is that I might have needed to notify my supervisor about my applying. I don't know if there is or what the company policy is in regards to internal application. I didn't even know we would have needed to notify anyone had my husband not told me.

I have a good working relationship with my supervisor along with the executives and I do plan on telling them first thing after my interview.

So I guess I would like some reassurance that I'm not completely screwed over.
