I’m pretty sure I’m about to get fired and I need advice on what to do next.
I was recruited into this job from another company a few months ago. The opportunity seemed to be a good jump for me, so I took it.
Ever since I got here, one person in the team has been attempting to sabotage me. I realize now I should had reported them weeks ago. Basically, they abuse company policy and get angry when others aren’t immediately at their beck and call. She will be gone for hours at a time during the day then get mad at others if they take a 20 min coffee.
I was harassed about “why did I take this job” and “someone like me shouldnt be there.” They also tried to dig into my personal life, but I avoided that.
My mgr also attempted something. He emailed me outside of normal working hours (without prior notice) then got angry when I didn’t respond and asked someone else to carry through the work - accusing me of “never being available”. He works in a different city and has never actually met me. The coworker who is attempting to sabotage me is very close to him.
He then began removing me from weekly meetings and daily calls - saying things like”don’t need these anymore.” I’m pretty sure he’s taking action against me next week and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been actively looking for other jobs now and I have plenty of savings in the bank to last awhile. I have two second round interviews next week.
I filed am employee relations case with HR today and the investigators are apparently going to start next week.
I don’t know what to do next and I would really appreciate any help I could get. Should I bail and just cut my losses now?
