Prospective employer requires 5 references which I do not have - how to proceed?

Hello sub,

I was sent a link yesterday (Skill Survey) to input my references for a fairly entry-level position. Unfortunately it requires five whole references, not the usual three, and there is no way I can offer five. I am only recently graduated from college. This seems a bit ridiculous for a non-advanced position; a ~30 question survey for five people? I would feel bad putting even my three through that.

I am unable to even submit the form without five references. Is it even worth emailing the HR person about this? I would hate to be taken out of the running for something like this. How can I respectfully approach the issue with HR?
