I love my current place of work. My boss is awesome I get paid well... but my old boss approached me with a new job at his new employer...and is promising me a 35% pay raise to what I currently have.

To make matters worse... I am a recruiter. Currently earning above average for my age. I have only been at this place for 1 yr. 2 weeks ago my old boss called me and said his friend is looking for someone with my skill. I purposefully gave him a ridiculous range ad to what it would cost me to leave my current position because I love my workplace now. He said he could get it for me.

My current manager and I really bonded this year. I kept telling my old boss that I love where I work I am not looking to leave...and if I did it would only be for the money. To be honest I dont want to quit my current job. However the new position is going to have a cool manager too..plus pension.. plus other perks...and id be making way more money.

Once I go to my current manager with an offer from another company.. Especially at my experience.. hes not going to believe it. I already know. I am going to put him in a tough spot and I dont want that. Hes treats me like family. I am so torn.

I know i have to do what is best for me.... but I really dont want to leave my team. But this new pay is going to help me land on my feet. I dont know how he would break it to the team either because nobody is going to see this coming.

Ahhh .. i give recruiter advice all the time and now when I am in the same spot ... i have a hard time taking it.
