My boss has emailed me to set up a meeting . I am 95% sure that I will be fired during this talk and at the least reprimanded.
To be honest, I completely deserve it. I decided back in July that this job was not for me. And my production has been horrible. I have not lived up to my job requirements. I know it, she knows it. However, we have not discussed my performance before. I have worked there for 2 years and just recently, while I have been actively applying for other jobs have things kinda gone sideways. I 100% plan on quitting, I just wanted to line something else up first.
I have decided, even if it becomes a “Do Better” conversation, that during the conversation I will put in my notice. Im not good at confrontation and only want to have an awkward conversation once. I have kinda been passively avoiding her to not end up in this conversation yet, not difficult... I work remotely.
I’ve never been in this situation and not sure how to quit or how to be fired. I’ve always naturally been moving on to other things and my bosses usually have helped me move to different positions and help me reach my professional goals. I think here I just became really burnt out.
In either conversation, firing or quitting... I would like to offer to finish my current assignments and help catch my replacement up to speed. My current assignments will likely be completed at the end of October. Is there a graceful way to mutually part, though I am at fault?
