I work as office help in the transportation department of a school district. We just got a new transportation director over the summer and he’s rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.
But just 2 days ago he got mad about how one of the bus monitors was talking back to him, so he’s punishing her by having her still come in for her shift and sit in the break room for yesterday’s and today’s shifts.
Mind you, this is in the US Midwest where there is a driver shortage, and we, of course, are short on drivers and monitors. I feel like he’s got a big ego and is trying to force her to quit. Does this sound like acceptable behavior to anyone? Does this sound like an HR issue?
