I'm working two part-time jobs: one in the Mornings, the other in the Evenings. This puts me at 50+ hours a week with no off days and I'm exhausted. Both jobs are demanding more of my time and I need help choosing which job to quit.
Job 1, my Evening job, is my first job ever and I've been working there for over 3 years. I make an hourly wage of $8.75 and my boss refuses to give me any raises. I am the lowest paid employee despite working there the longest out of everyone else excluding the managers. I work with my parents which I rather enjoy. It is a flexible schedule job. I love my customers and they give me purpose in life. It's a very calm environment, but it's emotionally taxing.
Job 2, my Morning job, I started working at to make up for the raise that my boss at Job 1 refused to give me. I've been working there for a little under a year. I make an hourly wage of $11.00 and it is a very physically draining job. I feel like a drone. I've been asked how I feel about moving up in the company and extending my availability. This would give me $12.50 an hour. The schedule is solid here and time off must be requested 2 weeks in advance, so sudden can't-make-it's aren't really an option.
I am wanting to quit one to make room for time to breathe. I'm aching and tired all the time and I don't want to continue living this way. I'm a morning person, but having mornings at my evening job is out of the question since the other higher-paid employees have requested it. I'm struggling to choose because my favorite job doesn't value me, and my least favorite job pays me well and values me. Also, I want to begin an internship for my dream career next year, which would require evenings.
TL;DR: I want to quit a job. Job 1 pays poorly and refuses to give me a raise, but I love my customers and my job. Job 2 pays well and wants me to move up into management, but is a physically taxing job that makes me feel like a drone and I hate it. Which job should I quit?
