Hi everyone,
I interviewed for a contract to hire job last Friday that went very well. They told me I would hear back after background checks in a week. The only thing is, I’m 3 hours away from the city and am currently making $11.50/hour. I told them 4-6 weeks for me to move so I can have enough money to rent a place and get my stuff moved. I didn’t want to say 2 weeks or even 4 weeks if I was unsure I would be able to settle in in time. I think my caution screwed me and I won’t be able to get the job. I applied through a recruiter/LinkedIn, and when I first told her about my timeline she was going to wait and contact me for the in-person interview, but I wanted to go ahead and get the interviews done with. If they contact me next week should I tell them I can move within 2 weeks? Will they ask if I can move sooner, if they would like to hire me? I would be able to get financial help from family. I would love this job and they seemed very impressed with me, I just don’t want my mistake to screw me.
Thanks!
