Reconsideration After Rejection?

Hi r/jobs,

I have been feeling a little desperate recently in my job search. I recently had a few (second!) interviews that I thought went really well and received generic rejection emails from and it has really killed my spirits... this is not what I needed help with, I know those ones are probably lost causes, I just need to get it off my chest.

The job I would like to approach again is another of the same story. I applied 3 months ago, had a few interviews for an amazing job, something that would get me out of the retail world and into something close to my goal career path. However, I was rejected from that job due to scheduling issues with my summer college classes... at least, I hope that was the only reason.

Now that the summer semester is coming to an end, I would like to re-approach the organization to see if I can be considered again. In her rejection email, the hiring manager told me I showed "good potential" and they would keep my resume on file. My college schedule starting in the fall will work well with the position, and like I said, I am starting to get desperate. Is it worth it to email the manager and ask to be reconsidered? Or was she just letting me down easy 3 months ago? The position is still open for applications on their website. Should I create a new resume reflecting the addition to my education? I would like to maximize my chances, ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.
