Overtime pay?

So at my job 40 hours is the typical 5, 8hr shifts a week. I’m scheduled to work 9 shifts in a row, and 3 of those shifts don’t fall under the same work week. Does this mean I’ll only be making overtime pay for 1 of the 6 shifts in that week? I assume so, which is bs.
