I had a phone interview scheduled for today at 2:00PM. 2:30 rolls around and I reach out to the recruiter to follow-up and confirm that they are still actively screening candidates for this position and if so whether they needed to reschedule our call to a more convenient time.
The recruiter responded back immediately that they input the call into their personal cell calendar but that it did not make it to their work calendar. (Not completely unbelievable as our initial exchange via LinkedIn happened while the recruiter was out of office on vacation) At this time they did let me know that there was a final candidate for this role. And quickly sent another follow-up email that they would potentially be adding another role to the department.
I was already unsure of the fit and this exchange did leave a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Would you continue to interview in this situation?
