So I went for a job interview the other day, the guy said they'd pay for my travel up to their location if I came down as I live an hour and a bit away. When I went they stated they was looking for a gradute and was only willing to pay them £14k a year, even though I'd said in my application I was looking for £10k more than that - Unsure why they even made me come in to be honest! Point is, I paid for my ticket and expected for them to mention it when I was there but they didn't and they've since emailed me saying they really liked me but obviously, went for someone more suitable as I would agree they should have done.
Should I be able to ask them for the reimbursement for travel? I don't want to be rude and I'm unsure if that's a thing you only do if you get the job, but they did say they would if I came up for the interview - They're quite a big company so I'm unsure of their connections too.
