Rejecting an offer when there's a slight chance of getting fired if rejected?

I work on a contract basis for a company who's now considering offering me a full time job. But the problem is they were going to offer me a full time job much earlier, but somehow my boss got to know that i am not going to remain in the company for much longer and would leave for the first opportunity i get. So they didn't give me the offer before and extended my contract. Now I am in my 2nd month of the extended contract and they are again considering me for a full time position. I talked yesterday with my boss and while talking he said things that made me think that they are gonna give me much lower initial offer. Now I don't want to settle for a low offer because that would mean i get left behind in my career because the next job i will get will compensate me based on what i am getting from this job. So I am gonna reject the initial offer if it's below average, but now that's also a problem because I might risk losing my job. Any advice on n what should i do?
