Went into their company they represent and did good on interview and was offered a position. Seemed fine but now this staffing place seems quite sketchy with everything.
Some of things that seem abnormal to me for a contracted job.
I had to sign paperwork saying they can decrease my pay at any time.
Some of the paperwork has a different staffing company and when asked about it they played stupid.
They originally wanted 2 years of work info which I gave and now they changed it to wanting 5 years of paystubs and W2's which seems invasive for the job I was hired for.
They made me do 2 different background checks and when questioned they played stupid again saying they weren't aware of it.
The position has no time frame, they said they could hire me anytime they want even though there's no indication they actually hire anyone permanently. To me that's the big one because I don't want to throw away a year or two and get nothing from it especially vacation time that I would've rightfully earned.
Should I trust my gut on this and move onto something else? I've gone through staffing a number of times and never had to deal with this crap. I was just working at Pepsi and they do a federal background and even that wasn't as invasive as what this staffing place wants for a state level check. They are in another state so I can't get a feel for them so sending that much personal info to a bunch of guys other end of the country doesn't seem right.
