Nervousness Leads to Discouraging Interview

My life is hectic at this specific moment as I’m juggling school full time and trying to find a job; I graduate in August. Job searching is adding added stress to my workload and I should mention I’m in a master’s program, but the process takes a while as we all know.

Well, my classmate got me an interview at their company; good paying and within the field I’m studying. Normally I’m OK at interviews as I already got one offer but this one.... destroyed me. My classmate assured me it would be 3 people but it ended up being a panel interview of 4, with one being the VP of the company. I was so nervous that I word-vomited and accidentally talked about an old co worker that I had trouble working with when asked about a high stress environment. I normally answer this with another answer but was so caught off guard I completely blew it....

Feeling discouraged. A learning experience for sure... my classmate and the manager who LOVES me and wants to hire me are trying to save me, my classmate assuring to the VP it was a misunderstanding and my nerves took over, but I’m still going in 200% not expecting anything.

Have you guys ever expected a scenario like this? Advice for next time?

Edit: experienced not expected!
