I graduated in January of this year and have been constantly trying to apply while trying to get some people including a few professors helping me out to get a job but it's been difficult actually getting a phone call or email for an interview. I haven't applied to 100+ jobs like most people. I have been trying to get the following type of jobs in different type of locations and companies in the US:
- Data Analyst
- Data Scientist
- Research Analyst
- Research Assistant
Basically any job relating to analyzing data & creating statistical models , cleaning data, and visualizing data. I have the degree (Masters in Information Technology) and the US citizenship which many people have claimed it's supposedly easy for me to get a job and don't get why I am not getting anything while many people from my program who are on a visa are getting jobs faster than I am. I ask those students how they found the job and if they can help. Some are helping me and told me they have gotten offers from Indeed, Handshake, and Linkedin which is the same I have been doing. They also say I should be applying to at least 50+ plus jobs a day and the reason I might not be getting a job offer is because of my resume and cover letter. I would like to apply to 50+ jobs a day but when I am looking at Indeed for instance, I am not finding much jobs that interest me or give me the pay I am supposedly supposed to get.
I keep telling myself there is a job for me out there but I am starting to lose hope especially when I don't get a call or email back but if anything just rejections. I would like to have a job as soon as possible. I don't know if it's just my luck also. My mom does not believe it's luck and believes I am not trying hard enough but it's like how hard can I try. I already did as much as I can do to the point I am exhausted in the end. Can you please give me advice on what to do or help me? I'm open to anything I can get.
