So heres my dilemma.
I am moving to a new state. Its for a temporary job that I am accepting in hopes of it turning full time permanent according to what the hiring manager said but shes not 100% sure. I figured I would make the move and hold out for 4-6 months and use a portion of my allocated savings until it burns out. If nothing happens after 4-6 months I will move back home. At best, I get the job and pursue residency, at worst I burn through my savings but I get great experience at a company I have always wanted to work at and quite literally my dream job and will beef up my resume. Either way, this decision will most likely be outside of the 30 day time frame for establishing residency in the new state. I will also be staying at different hotels/airbnbs to decide which neighborhoods I like best so I wont even have a permanent residence for the first two months while I am there.
What are my options for filing official tax/state/work documents and what are the consequences if I dont obtain a drivers license within 30 days or claim residency in the state I would be working at temporarily?
And before anyone questions if this is a good financial decision or what. I should give more detail just to fill everyone in but I feel its really not important to the situation I am inquiring about:
-I have a set allocated amount of savings that I am willing to use to pursue this dream to cover living expenses (on top of the work income). I gave myself a timeframe that if nothing happens in 4-6 months its best for me financially to move back home
-I literally cant find a job in my current state -This organization like I said, is my dream job, and an organization I felt was my end goal in my professional career. I am lucky I get to even work here at all this early in my career
-Like the organization, this is a state I have always wanted to live in and also was my end goal to live and settle down in
-I didn't not to want take the job (even though its temporary), and then live back in my hometown NOT getting jobs then always ask myself: "What IF I went? What IF they eventually offered me a permanent full time position?
-these are the reasons why I am pursuing this job
