Hi! I’ve been at my current job for over 5 years. I’m pretty happy here and have an excellent work/life balance which I cherish. But I’m not happy with my salary. I’ve gotten mostly small yearly raises, despite a promotion, and even becoming a manager. I’ve started to job hunt, mainly with the intention of getting a higher salary offer so my current company with match it. I am very confident they will do this, because one of coworkers did it in the past. (I don’t want to discuss it with them though, because I currently manage them!)
My goal is at least a 10% salary increase.
I have never done this before! It feels weird applying for jobs I don’t intend to accept. I have my first interview this week. Any advice on how I should navigate this? Thanks!
