Job Background Check Question

Hello there,

I was wondering if I could get some opinions. I accepted an offer for a software development position at a medical technology company. I am now going through the background check/drug screening for the job. About 9 years ago I was convicted of misdemeanor theft. It was a petty crime that I committed when I was 18 and I am now 27 years old. I have no other criminal history whatsoever.

Do you think that this will bar me from employment?
