I’d be making more of an hourly rate working for an agency but essentially I’d lose all my full time benefits. Currently I make 54K a year but after Massachusetts tax, I calculated it out to be around $22 an hour whereas the temp job id make $33 an hour. Is it a bad move? I just don’t think I’m compensated fairly for my experience at my current job. I mentioned to them before and the raise wasn’t even anything significant. The contract is 6 months and it’s in the science field. The reason behind the temp job is that it’ll buy me time to think about whether or not I want to relocate to another state. If I apply FT through a company, I don’t want to leave before the year ends.

Is it unwise to leave a full time job for a temp contract to hire job?
