I've been thinking about past jobs that I've been hired at and have never really thought about asking them what made me stand out enough to hire. One or two of the places I know weren't super easy to get in to, so I'm curious if, in the future, I could find an opportunity to ask my next employer why they decided I was a fit, and not be weird. Is something this generally discouraged or actually encouraged? Would it maybe be better just before leaving the job?
