I messed up and left out my post-bachelors education on my resume because I figured it’s not relevant at all to the job I applied to and I didn’t want it to look bad that I was taking courses to eventually switch careers. To make matters worse I was so nervous during my interview that when the interviewer asked me if I was full-time or part-time I said full-time even though I’m actually part time. I don’t know why I thought it’d look bad if I backtracked on what I said so I just went along with it, everything I said about my qualifications and my job description was the truth except my part-time status. Now the company wants to run a background check if I’m interested in continuing the hiring process and I’m scared they’ll find out I left out my post-grad education and find out that I’m actually working part-time instead of full-time . Should I withdraw my job application before they find out or fess up to the employers? I feel terrible that I lied and know I screwed myself over by not being honest in the first place.
