So I'm going to try to keep it brief, but my wife is having an extremely difficult time finding a job that pays anything even relatively decent, shes currently working but its basically for peanuts.
A few months ago she was fired from her job as an assistant manager at a petstore, the reasoning was because of petty write ups like a single item not front faced perfectly, or missed a bag or two in overstock, and little issues like that (nothing criminal or harassment issues). She had been there for over a year and at the moment we're young and its the longest shes been at a job since shes been a college student. We found out through her current employer that the reason they were willing to hire her is because the manager was burned by the same company in the past, when she called for a reference on it, the district manager said shes not rehireable and hung up, with absolutely no other context. I found out today from one of the other former employees that almost everyone else in the store was conspiring against her on the write ups. Almost none of the issues were brought up in any kind of feedback to her other than in write up form until she was fired.
Since then in a few months time shes only gotten a small handful of interviews despite hundreds of applications, her current job pays far too little and we're barely making ends meet as it is. -She's a full time student for online classes, she has an associates and almost a bachelors. -Her "best" employment is apparently now unusable on her resume or application since its a local company and they arent as professional in the HR department. -most of her other experience is retail related, no other issues with former employers though
anyone have any advice on how to find some kind of decent employment? Shes even applied to walmart and hasnt gotten a call. Should we just leave the job off of any applications at this point and just say she wasnt working during that time to concentrate on school?
