Been on the railroad for a while, I was just recently searching for another job due to the stress and bad habits here. I did find, have some in the process of getting but.... I recently got approached by a hub boss and he took me in the offices and asked me if I was interested. This is a union environment but not like any other, seniority is only really good for vacation and bumping some daily positions.
So I said yeah, why not. Anyways I might quit in a few weeks or a month and a breeze in training would be good. So I'm here my first day, no one knows obviously, many others rejected the offer, idk how they asked but it got to me. I'm guessing based on performance and reputation from supervisors.
So I'm here doing it, it's literally the best job ever, only people that get appointed to it get it. It changed my outlook on quitting because it comes with a raise, not substantial but some. So, the guys find out and start getting all mad asking me how I got it. I was like you asking the wrong person. They chose me and that's it.
So the point to this is, when you're at your lowest on your job and feel lie quitting, always make sure to still give your full potential be aye you don't know who's looking or what might come your way. Also, idc about all this mad heads that have been here for years, if it only took me one year to get this and they still haven't gotten it, it's on them.
Great....
