I got an interview for a $65k+ job position but it’s 2 hours away from the hospital for my medical appointments.

This is a really bad timing for me. I am working a job that pays only a few dollars above the minimum wage. It’s crappy so I plan to leave to work in my field (nursing). Yesterday I got an email for an interview opportunity in a city that’s about 2 hours away. It pays twice what I typically make at my current job.

Unfortunately this morning I found out that I need a medical surgery at a hospital that’s close to my current job. The surgeon said that my internal device has failed so I need a re-implantation surgery and attend medical therapy every week. This will last for about 6 to 12 months. I have to be close to this particular hospital as it’s the only one that can provide the only kind of care for me. I can’t easily transfer to another hospital.

How do I tell the hiring manager that I’m still interested but in hopefully 6 months?
