Hi! I'm a 23 year old and I've worked in retail for the majority of my adult life and as someone who's severely introverted it's..... complete and total trash, but after I left college anywhere I'd end up getting interviews was in a retail setting; so here I am suffering at [AMERICAN VIDEO GAME CHAIN]. I also run an etsy shop as a hobby and as a result mail out a lot of packages and I recently had the epiphany that it might be nice to work at the post office. The idea appealed to me because 1. no matter where you live there's gonna be some kind of mail service 2. my etsy revolves around illustration and textile work / embroidery so I really do enjoy work that may be considered mundane or monotonous because it calms me 3. I imagine the primary social interaction I would have would be with co-workers which i am more than cool with.
So, for those of you who got through the prologue of my post, I was wondering about stuff like the general perspectives of people already working in the industry, process of applying, necessary requirements, or really anything else of note. I'd really really appreciate any help!! :)
