Hard Decision Regarding My Current Job

I work at a rather large telesales company that hosts many clients' sales or support teams. A sales team, for instance, consists of a lead, account managers, sales reps, and sales support.

I started working for this company about 1.5 years ago. I joined a team for Client A as an Account Manager. There are some struggles to my current line of work, some incredibly boring parts, but I don't hate showing up to work every day. Client A has several divisions, one of which is shutting down (and leaving my really good work friend stranded in terms of a role).

A new team (Client B) started about six months ago and consisted of one disaster after another: there was limited on-boarding time, more people have quit than have been hired on, and there are more problems than solutions (including Client B threatening to renege on the contract and walk away).

Onto the actual situation that I need advice on:

Client B's liaison reached out to me and asked me to help out the team temporarily (until they were able to hire some more people in approximately 3-6 months). I would be working my position with Client A part-time and doing the work with Client B the other half of the day. I agreed under certain stipulations (Client A is my first priority, I'd do behind-the-scenes work for Client B, etc.). The friend who's going to be out a job in Client A? She'd work in my role half-time. Everything was agreed to and life went on.

As of today, I was told another team member is quitting Client B. Client B's liaison is insisting I quit my job and my friend takes my role for Client A permanently. I was indirectly told that if I don't work with Client B, that team would shut down and my friend would be without a role.

I don't know what to do and could use some insight from all of you. What I've gathered is that if I accept the new role, there's no wage increase, the Client B team keeps their jobs, my friend gets to stay with a team she likes, but Client B may leave in three months anyway. If I don't accept the role, Client B leaves and the team is fired, my friend is without a job, and the liaison to Client B will remember this/hold a grudge and I don't move anywhere in this company.
