To keep it short:
I was offered the opportunity to do some job shadowing, and am finishing up thank you cards to send. I am stuck on one though. I am job searching - but that is a secondary concern here.
Question: Isn't there an implied rule of not asking, or including anything in the thank you note that shows interest in a job with that company (since it was very kind for me to even be able to job shadow someone)? I drafted the 2 below example sentences to include. Could anyone provide any advice please?
Option 1:
"Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to speak with me. Also, thank you for the career advice, as well as sharing some more information about working __________ (and leave it at that). It was valuable and I appreciate it.
Option 2:
"I really appreciate the insight you provided about what it's like to work at __________". It was very helpful and I will look into some careers here in the future.
It was a good experience, another person I met during the day gave me some great career advice and is very connected.Sometimes, it's just by chance that you meet some really nice people who enjoy helping everyone they can (which inspires me to be more like that).
Can anyone offer any guidance - or am I just overthinking this?
Thanks!
