I had my last day of work on Friday and I feel like the handover was messy. I have a new job I start in four days and was looking forward to relaxing this weekend, but I cannot stop worrying about things I left undone at my last job. I would just like some outside perspective.
Overall, the job itself was messy. There was poor communication from higher ups, I rarely felt like I was supported by my supervisors in customer disputes, and I was barely trained and given an outdated manual. Additionally, over two years I only had one “6 month” review, so I never felt like I got feedback on my performance or could really give my own perspective.
I tried very hard at that job to stay on top of a lot of detailed tasks, but I slacked at one thing and now that one thing is literally keeping me up at night. It was just event notes I didn’t take for a couple events (out of like 30 total events) and they can always refer to older notes.
Nobody contacts someone whose left a job to complete it later, do they? They wouldn’t contact my new employer to complain? I’m really excited about my next move and they seem so much more professional!
