Advice for leaving management job??

Basically, my job is draining me and I want to quit. No one understands what my job is. My direct supervisor has no idea what I do on the day to day, and the way she treats me is also one of the big reasons I'm quitting. I feel nagged for small slip-ups and get no recognition for things I do well. On top of everything, I just moved about an hour farther from my job so the commute makes me even more exhausted. So I need to quit and I know it's the right decision for me.

But I am so anxious about talking to my boss and telling her I'm leaving, I don't think she's going to react well and I feel like I've worked myself into a position where I'm being relied upon as if I am part owner so I can't just give my two weeks and leave. The thing is, I feel like I could give two months notice and they wouldn't find a replacement so it seems like a waste of my time to give a lot of notice. Plus I worry about my boss being passive aggressive towards me during the time I'm finishing up. I just can't figure out what to say, when to say it or anything.

Ultimately, I'm going to say that I'm leaving to go back to school, but I'm also leaving mid summer because I can't take it anymore so I don't know how to say this without putting myself in a position where she might grill me about my timing.
