So my spouse joined a new company 4.5 months ago and about a month ago he started having issues with one of his senior coworkers (not a manager) in terms of micromanaging and excluding him from meetings. My husband was spoken to by their mutual manager he needs to "communicate better", but was not formally written up. Fast forward after a business trip, my husband saw his job posted. Since then, people in the office are not speaking to him and it seems they are trying to get him to quit versus "letting him go". He has dealt with derogatory comments from other coworkers on and off, and he just never seemed to "fit in" there. I am guessing they don't have a real reason to "fire" him and rather try to force him out so they don't have to pay unemployment. This is the first time he has ever experienced this. He is already looking for a new job. When he is asked why is leaving a new job so soon, he was thinking of saying the job profile he was described and the one he was given are not what he expected rather than just saying "It's a bad culture fit". He works in the IT field. Anybody else have suggestions on how he should answer this question when it comes up? We are hoping he can find a new job and resign before the ax falls, but one can never tell...
