Placement year in the USA? (I'm British)

Hi guys so basically I've had no luck finding somewhere that will take me as a placement year student in the U.K for next year (I study economics at a top 10 UK university), will I have better luck finding a company in the USA? Or will it be even harder to find one over there?

Will the fact I'm British help me secure a placement over there?

Would it be feasible financially?

Will they pay me enough to even afford accommodation/flights etc?
