Hey everyone,
I received a job offer today from a job that I really wanted. I liked the company and the mission, and was/am pretty eager to work with them.
However, I received an offer from the company for 10k less than what I requested. When I had my initial call I explained what I was looking for, and 10k is not a small difference.
Combined with the fact I live in a high cost of living city, and that they are offering me such a low number, it is kind of rubbing me the wrong way. I am excited about the company, but am not blind to the reality of living day to day.
This is the first time this has happened and was wondering what the best course of action it is. I am thinking of reaching out and explaining I need 10k extra, and part of me has just been rubbed the wrong way for them thinking that's a reasonable salary.
Should I reject it outright, or should I ask for an increase?
