How to answer "Why were you fired from your last job?" if I get a job interview in a similar field?

Hi everyone, I worked as a janitor at McDonald's as exclusively a Janitor from September 10th 2018 to March 31st~. I was fired from that position, but would like to apply to a different place as a janitor. The post is kind of long and a bit melodramatic as it was posted the night of my firing but it explains exactly what happened.

I am looking to apply to the store "The Brick" as a Janitor (They list a very similar skill set that I know I have an know that I can optimize and adapt for the different industry I'll be using it in). My main question is though, how can I explain why I was fired from my last position? I understand that it was essentially entirely my fault for that position not working, but I feel like I have the skill set needed for the job and I am prepared to make everything right for the next job I have. I also feel like I wouldn't necessarily need much training aside from the things I'd need to change to adapt it to that environment. Any advice? I really appreciate it.

Also, the person that fired me says that I can use them as a reference on my resume and they will kindly of me. I am not 100% sure if this is a good idea, but what do you think?
