Can you get in trouble for lying to use sick time instead of vacation time?

I’m going to an interview this afternoon and yesterday told my boss I was taking my grandfather to the doctor since I can’t spare any of my vacation time. I have to save all of it for a vacation I have planned and paid for coming up so I can’t use even an hour of vacation time. Is there any repercussion for using sick when it’s not truly sick-time worthy?
