I went to a conference session panel led by a woman I have met once before. I went to say hi to the woman after the session and express my interest in the topic. She said I can email her and she can connect me with a man who was on the panel who may let me volunteer at his company for experience. On my way out, I ended up running into the man and introducing myself. He gave me his card to email him about potential volunteer opportunities.
I don't know what to say to the woman now. I want to email her and say how nice it was to attend her session to maintain the connection. The thing is that I don't need the introduction anymore since I met the man myself. However, it would look good to have her put in a good word for me with the man because it might increase my chances of getting to volunteer. I'm stumped about how to phrase things though.
