I have sent ~300 applications since October, had a few interviews and many rejections. I have also been unemployed since January. I’ve tried working with temp agencies, but usually find myself getting ghosted by them. I have grown very anxious, depressed, and frustrated in my job search.
My current most pressing issue is that I don’t know what to apply to anymore, or where. I don’t know key words to search (studied public health) and it seems like I’ve applied to EVERY job even remotely in my field in the city I live in. I am open to other fields, but don’t know how to go about that process because usually I’ll just leave the search field blank and get hundreds of thousands of jobs in my city that are overwhelming/impossible to sift through. I am also open to moving, but only to one or two cities that seem to have even less prospects than where I currently am.
The keywords I’m using are based off my experience: public health; health education; communications; media; social media; community outreach; research; development, etc.
I am somewhat network with places I know I’d definitely want to work, but even finding new places and people within those places is confusing.
I can’t seem to find anything that I am qualified for, that interests me, or both. I don’t know what I’m even good at or have the ability to do. I need major help and an overhaul in how I search for jobs.
