Better job or better location?

I grew up in Tampa, Florida and lived there for all of my life. After I graduated I got a job at a pretty prestigious consulting firm... but I hated it. I’ve always wanted to leave Tampa and when I was given the opportunity I did. So now I’m living in Denver, CO working at a new job but turns out this new job isn’t what I expected. There isn’t enough work to go around and the work place at times can be toxic. Also, I don’t see much exit opportunities or opportunity for growth within. Although it is a Fortune 500 company if that means anything. But I love living in Denver even though I do miss my friends/family a lot.

I was contacted by a recruiter at my old company for a new senior level role. Mind you, this firm has a lot of different opportunities and many exit opportunities. It would also pay more than my current job but I would have to move back to Florida. This new role sounds way different from what I was doing before and definitely fits my interests.

So my question is what, in your opinion, is more important job or location? I know it’s different for everyone but just wanted to hear some thoughts.
