I have three potential job offers coming up and would love some input on the best way to chose the right offer. A bit about me: I am graduating college as an accounting major and currently work at company C right now as an intern. I am moving from FL to CA after graduation an am potentially looking at three job offers at the moment. My fiance is in the navy so when he is in town I'd love to be able to see him (hence the point of moving to him). I really enjoy making money, I am a work hard play hard type. Here are my three potential offers:
Company A (Big four accounting firm)
- Pro:
- I really like the people, company culture and the office
- I could see myself working there
- I've heard they pay fairly, have opportunity for advancement and good bonuses
- Seems to increase in flexibility with tenure (work from home etc.)
- Awesome experience for my resume
- I have a connection to the FL office and can easily transition back to FL once fiance is done in navy in CA
- Big four
- Cons:
- I've heard work life balance sucks
- Lots of travel
Company B (Big four accounting firm)
- Pro:
- The top performer in the area Im moving too
- Big four
- Awesome experience for my resume
- I've had less exposure to the people there so not sure how i would fit in compared to Co. A
- Cons:
- I've heard work life balance sucks
- Lots of travel
- Larger sense of politics in the office
- Bit more formal and structured than other firm
Company C (Fortune 200 manufacturing firm)
- Pro:
- I've already worked here for a year - have had a positive experience
- I have a connection to the FL headquarters and can easily transition back to FL once fiance is done in navy in CA
- Company culture is really relaxed, Can wear jeans to work
- People are very nice and I fit in in the location I work at now
- Very flexible - can work from home as an intern
- Awesome work life balance
- Cons:
- Will never have big four experience on resume
- Will likely have to work very hard to ever be at the same level as I would be if i did big four
- No public accounting experience
- Moving from HQ to a smaller plant in CA - maybe less opportunities?
- Would likely be paid less compared to big four
- Work will likely be less accounting specific
What do you think? Which would you choose? I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice you may have!
