I’m a 19yo college student and I’ve been looking for a part-time job for a while now and haven’t been having any luck. Have had a couple interviews but no offers. So I also sent out applications for summer jobs to try and get employed so I could save up some money for school next year. Haven’t heard back yet as their closing date for applications was just 2 weeks ago and they said I could expect to wait 4 weeks earliest before I heard anything. So just the other day my mom’s friend said that if I couldn’t find a job by the end of April he would be willing to give me a job working as a flooring installer. I said if I don’t hear back from anyone then I would gladly take him up on his offer and he agreed to it.
Now, I’ve never worked in the trades or with tools before so I’d be very green going into this job. He said not to worry and that as long as my hands worked not to worry about it and he’d be willing to teach me. It’s not an apprenticeship or anything, just labourer work from what I’m aware of. So if I were to end up working for him, what would I expect to be doing exactly?
