I recently got a promotion at my full time job, so I have no need/time for my part time job. It somehow became practically a second full time job in the last couple months since the owner has opened another business that takes up most of his time. I rarely can get him to come into the office unless something is going wrong in the building. (It's in a gym, imagine a stereotypical "gym dude" as my owner. I'm usually here at least 30 hours a week, and have had this bullshit "not really a raise, but you do a lot more, and you can make the schedule".
Anyways, I'm trying to resign/change my schedule with this job. I've asked the owner to come over twice, and he has an excuse each time of him being busy so I could tell him in person. He said he can stop in either tomorrow, or the next day so I'm planning to put a written note, along with the notes of things I've already written for him. It's gonna go something like this-
"Hey Boss, I just wanted to give you a written letter stating, that I will need to change my hours of availability at (your business.) I've recently accepted a job offer which makes me unavailable most days during our office hours. I'd love to still be able to help you guys out here at your business, and have loved my time here. For the next 2 weeks, I can also help train/interview any more people you need in the office in my absence".
Thanks a lot!
Shmillz
I've thought about an email, but I am the one in the office who checks the emails, so I'd be emailing myself.
Is a text equally as professional as leaving this letter? I am of course planning on coming in for the next two weeks this isn't like my leave this note and never contact them again.
