Out of state, in-person, third round of interviews for 5 hours.. Is this most likely a meet-and-greet to see if I mesh with the team or to gauge my qualifications further?
I applied for this job almost two months ago. I had an initial screening 30-min interview with a recruiter who works for the company who asked me about my experience with database management and SQL. He said he didn't know about that sort of thing but was just taking down my answers and forwarding them along.
A few weeks later, I had an hour long interview with my would-be boss and 7 or 8 others (a few executives). They asked me a lot of the standard "tell me about yourself.. tell me about a time when you _________" etc. questions and a lot of specific "tell me about your experience with XYZ software" kind of questions.
Now, they're flying me out for an all-day interview in which I'll meet with 8 people, half of which were in the second round interview. This is for an entry-level position with a top-20 biggest bank in the US (by assets).
I have zero experience with this sort of thing -- my prior work experience came after a single interview/round of interviews in the same day.
Should I expect this to be more of a meet-and-greet, get to know you type of thing, or an extended are you qualified? type of interview? Or a little of both?
If all goes well and they really like me, is it likely that they would give me an offer/want to discuss salary and such?
Any other thoughts/tips on out-of-state interviews would be great. Thanks guys
