My colleague keeps mentioning the word “hanky panky” around me. What does this word mean?

So whenever we achieve a high margin, he tells me that the finance team will think that we’re doing a “hanky lanky” with our partners to get this high margin and that we must lower it a bit to be within the norm.

I googled the meaning for “hanky lanky” and found that it means something sexual in return for a favor.

I’m a 23 yo female and he’s 36. I don’t think it’s appropriate for him to keep saying this over and over especially that we’re not good friends or anything. We’re just colleagues. I could last days without speaking to him

Is there any other meaning to this word? Maybe he doesn’t know what he’s saying? I find it very inappropriate for him to keep saying it.
