So! Over the past 4 summers, I have worked outside as a labourer. 40 hours/wk @ $21/hr
Over the past 3 winters, I have worked inside at a community centre as a front desk person. 35 hrs/wk @ $16/hr
Over this winter, I went to school for Office Administration - because I want to get a job working inside and don't want to work outside anymore as a labourer.
Neither of these jobs are secure/full-time
Office admin and labourer work are not my end goal - but I feel like office admin is more toward a direction I'd like to be headed.
I was offered the opportunity to work outside again for one more season or to work inside over the summer - at the rates listed above.
I decided to take the inside job so I could get experience doing office admin type work.. Now I'm feeling anxious about the pay cut. I can pay all my bills and save ~700-800 a month.
I fully intend to apply for full-time jobs in office admin type positions over the course of the summer.
I'm so used to just wanting to make more money - even though I know ultimately that's not what my goal is - it has become a goal for me - so I can live. argh!
I get terrible anxiety about making the "wrong" decision.
I guess what I'm seeking here is just some support with my decision.
Thanks for reading. :)
