Have you ever had a work trial?

Had an interview today and they said that they wanted me to show up tomorrow in the morning to try it out from 1045 to 1. She said that she was nervous about me working there because I had told her that I was 100% comfortable with talking to people. I applied for a cashier job. I have been in customer service my entire life but have struggled with talking to people. Has anyone ever been given a trial before working where they work? There was another time that I did the same thing, I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not and I only lasted a day. I didn’t ask them to put me on the schedule. The store only lasted for a year and didn’t appear to do well. They seem nice where I applied, and they even gave me some free food to try.
